Presentation College and Head Baseball Coach, Alex Ferguson, are pleased to announce that Justin Kline of Aberdeen, SD is transferring to Presentation College. Justin comes to Presentation after spending two years playing at North Dakota State University.

“I am very excited to have Justin join our team,” says Coach Ferguson. “Justin will make an immediate impact behind the plate and will be our top hitter and one of the top players in our conference. We are thrilled to have a player of Justin’s caliber join the Saints. He was an All-American at the Division I level as a freshman and we are excited about what he brings to the table. His sophomore season was cut short by an injury, but at the time he was having another outstanding season.”

College: As a freshman in 2009, Kline, was named All-Summit League second team catcher, selected to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and to the Ping! Baseball All-Freshman second team. Justin played 35 games and made 29 of his 33 starts behind the plate and finished seventh in the NCAA Division I stats with a .432 batting average, an NDSU freshman record and seventh best in school history. In an injury shortened sophomore campaign Justin hit .344 with 42 hits and 7 doubles. ...Ranked fifth in The Summit League with a .434 batting average in 21 games...Had a 10 of his 19 multi-hit games during a 14-game hitting streak from March 16 to April 18...Hit 4-for-5 in back-to-back games against UMBC and New Jersey Tech...Fell a triple shy of the cycle but scored four runs against NJIT...Made an impressive home debut by hitting an RBI triple and then an opposite-field grand slam to cap a nine-run first inning against Dakota Wesleyan...Threw out 33 percent of base stealers (16 of 48) during the year and had a .985 fielding percentage...HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2008 from Roncalli High School in Aberdeen...Won four state high school championships in five years and was a four-time all-state pick for coach Mark Gulseth...Hit .512 with 18 RBIs in 43 at-bats over 16 games...Broke every high school offensive career and single-season record...Led the Aberdeen Smitty American Legion team to a state title in 2008...Three-time all-state pick in Legion ball. South Dakota Player of the Year in 2008..Set career records for hits, doubles, runs scored, walks and RBIs...Three-time all-conference and two time all-state football player ...Played wide receiver, defensive back and punter...Two-time all-conference in basketball...Two-year letterman in track and field and part of the school-record 800-meter relay team
