Men's Soccer Falls on the Road to Upper Iowa University

FAYETTE, IA-- The Saints Men's Soccer team fell to Upper Iowa University today by a final score of 4-2. PC drops to 3-11 and 0-1 in conference play while the Peacocks improve to 4-7 on the year.
The scoring got off to an early start as Upper Iowa's Ruairidh Crawford found the back of the net just 14 seconds into the first half. Upper Iowa continued to dominate as the Peacocks found the back of the net two more times
In the 19th minute, Aaron Morgan headed a shot past PC's Matt Richardson to take the 2-0 lead. No more than five minutes later did Hugo Alves curve his corner kick into the goal to bring the Peacocks to a 3-0 lead.
However, the Saints comeback would start here as Alfie Hipwell found teammate Dylan Walsh off a corner kick to bring the score within two.
Teams headed into the locker room with a score of 3-1, in favor of the Peacocks.
Just 17 minutes into the second half the Saints struck again. This time Johnny Partida Jr sent a free kick into the box where Dylan Walsh would connect for his second goal of the game and cut the lead to one with just 27 minutes remaining in regulation.
In the 87th minute the Peacocks leading scorer, Blair Lyons, was able to find the back off the net to end any hopes of a Saints comeback. The final score would ultimately end 4-2, in favor of the Peacocks.
For the match, the Peacocks held the advantage over the Saints in shots 22-9, shots on goal 9-2, and corners 9-4.
The Saints will look to bounce back as they hit the road to take on conference opponent Viterbo in La Crosse, WI on Saturday, October 15th. Kick-off is set for 3 PM.
